Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst

Our client, a leading financial services organisation in Malta, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join its Finance function. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide expert regulatory guidance, interpret evolving financial regulations, and support the delivery of high-quality regulatory reporting across the organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in analysing European and local regulatory frameworks, advising internal stakeholders on complex reporting requirements, supporting regulatory initiatives, and ensuring compliance with supervisory expectations.

This position is ideal for a professional with experience in regulatory reporting, banking regulation, financial compliance, or risk management who enjoys combining technical expertise with strategic advisory responsibilities.

What is expected of you?

• Provide expert guidance on regulatory reporting requirements relating to capital adequacy, liquidity, prudential, financial, statistical, and recovery and resolution reporting
• Interpret European and local regulatory frameworks and advise stakeholders on the appropriate regulatory treatment of complex transactions
• Monitor emerging regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations and reporting obligations
• Conduct detailed research and analysis of evolving regulations, industry best practices, and regulatory reporting requirements
• Identify regulatory gaps and recommend practical solutions to ensure ongoing compliance
• Support the implementation of regulatory changes and reporting enhancements across the business
• Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors on regulatory initiatives and projects
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and participate in industry consultations where required
• Prepare and maintain regulatory guidance, technical documentation, and internal procedures
• Deliver technical support and training to internal stakeholders on regulatory reporting matters
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance regulatory reporting processes and controls
• Contribute to multiple regulatory projects while ensuring work is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines

What are you expected to bring?

• A minimum of 2–5 years' experience within regulatory reporting, banking regulation, regulatory compliance, financial risk management, or a similar financial services environment
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Accountancy, Risk Management, Financial Law, or a related discipline will be considered an asset
• Strong understanding of European banking regulations and regulatory reporting frameworks
• Previous exposure to prudential reporting, capital adequacy, liquidity reporting, financial reporting, recovery and resolution, or similar regulatory disciplines
• Experience with regulatory reporting frameworks such as COREP, FINREP, or equivalent reporting modules will be considered a strong advantage
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory matters to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet tight deadlines
