Most robotics teams are still building demos. This one is building robots that have to work, every day, in the real world.

We've partnered with a well-funded, founder-led physical AI company to hire a Senior Robotics Engineer. Their mission is to give machines a real understanding of the physical world, so robots can perceive, reason about and act in spaces built for people. The leadership team has shipped hardware at global scale before, and the backing is there to do it again.

The team is small, senior and building the full stack: the robot platforms, the perception that lets them see, and the learning systems that let them adapt. You'll be one of the engineers who decides how it all fits together.

We're hiring across specialisms. You'll go deep in one and work fluently with the others:

🦾 Manipulation and whole-body control for humanoid and mobile platforms

👁 Perception: 3D vision, SLAM, sensor fusion and multi-modal models

🧠 Robot learning: imitation learning, RL and sim-to-real transfer

🚗 Autonomy: planning, control and state estimation for systems that move at speed

Whichever you own, you'll take it from simulation onto real hardware and make it reliable there.

This is not a research role that ends at the paper.

You'll prototype fast, test on real robots and ship systems that hold up outside the lab, alongside people who have done it at the highest level.

We're looking for someone who:

→ Has a standout academic record, typically a PhD or research MSc from a leading robotics or AI lab

→ Has published at venues like ICRA, IROS, RSS, CoRL, CVPR or NeurIPS, or shipped work that speaks for itself

→ Has built on real hardware at a frontier lab, top robotics company or autonomy leader

→ Brings real depth in at least one of the four specialisms above

→ Writes production-quality C++ and Python, with ROS 2 or equivalent in the toolkit

Staff-level engineers and research leads are welcome too. For exceptional people, the scope and title flex to match.

The company is early enough that your work shapes the product, and funded well enough that you won't be fighting for hardware.
