About the role Software engineers (Ad Cloud Bidding) at Appier Tokyo office build a wide range of platforms and services that interconnect data and AI with our customers and users. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a strong focus on service operations to maintain and optimize our large-scale distributed systems. You will ensure our backend services run reliably and efficiently through automation, monitoring, and incident management. Responsibilities Manage system deployment, configuration, and release pipelines Design and manage automated deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable releases Implement monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response when required Continuously evaluate and adopt new tools or technologies to improve operational workflows About you [Minimum qualifications] BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields 3+ years of experience in backend engineering or site reliability engineering Familiar with Unix/Linux environments Scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash Experience in infrastructure-as-code tools A proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement and strong sense of ownership [Preferred qualifications] Experience with cloud infrastructure Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools Knowledge of performance profiling and load testing tools Exposure to security hardening, access control, or compliance auditing [Language]: Proficiency in Chinese Open to overseas candidates/Visa Support This position is based in Tokyo, Japan.
