Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems

About the Role

Join a small engineering team building the backend infrastructure for an AI-assisted radiology platform. You will take ownership of systems that support medical data workflows and model inference, helping improve the reliability and scale of technology used in healthcare.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure across data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed model inference on AWS.

• Own reliability, observability, debugging, and capacity planning across the stack.

• Build CI/CD and deployment automation that helps a lean team ship safely and efficiently.

• Design systems handling protected health information with encryption, access controls, and audit logging.

• Work with the ML team on infrastructure and model inference pipelines as priorities require.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in backend distributed systems or data infrastructure engineering.

• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems on AWS or a comparable cloud.

• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java, with experience in data pipelines, ETL, data warehouses or data lakes, and schema evolution.

• Experience leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across systems or teams, and making thoughtful performance, cost, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.

• Strong production troubleshooting skills, plus experience with CI/CD and deployment automation.

• Startup or startup-like experience is valuable. Healthtech, HIPAA or SOC 2, PHI, ML infrastructure, model inference, TypeScript, React, and Docker experience are also relevant.

• A degree in computer science or another STEM field, or equivalent strong technical fundamentals.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $215,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
