Your role and key responsibilities As a Senior Specialist - Packaging Planning you will be the key person to develop, align, and steer the implementation of the packaging for our incoming goods as well as for the intermediate and finished products. Reporting to the Inbound Logistics Manager, you will support and contribute to the PowerCo Logistics team to achieve the objectives of the logistics rollout project of PowerCo Canada. What you bring to the team Lead and coordinate the end-to-end design and development of both special and universal containers for battery cell manufacturing (inbound, inhouse and outbound) including alignments with internal and external partners to deliver optimized solutions for returnable packaging as well as for one way packaging. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Equipment Planning, Logistics and Production teams to ensure container designs integrate seamlessly into the battery production process while also fulfilling all necessary HSE requirements. Partner with Procurement to develop sourcing strategies, prepare technical specifications, lead supplier workshops, conduct technical evaluations, and support contract award decisions for returnable packaging and container systems. Validate and implement new packaging concepts through testing, pilot builds and production launches as well as manage packaging suppliers and drive technical alignment, quality and cost targets. Ensure compliance with battery-specific requirements including protection, cleanliness, ESD and hazardous material regulations. Act as the logistics owner for container and packaging projects, ensuring alignment between internal stakeholders and suppliers while driving project timelines, technical decisions, risk mitigation, and implementation activities from concept through serial production. Develop standardized container concepts to support scalable manufacturing operations. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on sustainability, automation compatibility and operational excellence. What makes you stand out Bachelors Degree - Packaging Engineering / Automotive / Supply Chain Management 3-5 years experience in packaging planning Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA 5V), SAP and container lifecycle management. trong understanding of battery manufacturing processes or general highly automized production processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate strong analytical skills to assess complex challenges and develop innovative, cost-effective container solutions. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in an environment of shifting priorities, timelines and occasional ambiguity. Physical requirements will include long periods of standing on shopfloor wearing PPE. Ability to travel 20% internationally. What to look forward to Attractive Remuneration: The expected competitive compensation range for this position is $88,390 - $110,490 CAD, which includes base pay and target amount of short term incentive plan.
