About Snowy:
Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the iconic Snowy Hydro-electric Scheme, gas and diesel electricity generating plants, and contracted wind and solar energy in the National Electricity Market. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.6 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0, currently under construction, is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
About the position:
At Snowy Hydro, we are powering Australia’s transition to a clean, reliable energy future. To support our ongoing growth and deliver on critical, large-scale energy projects, we are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant to join our People & Culture team.
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving end-to-end recruitment strategies that attract, engage, and secure top-tier talent—particularly across technical and niche skill sets. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders and hiring managers, you will combine proactive direct sourcing, talent mapping, and strategic guidance to deliver exceptional hiring outcomes while driving a candidate-first culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive full lifecycle recruitment across various business units, from initial strategy intake through to sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
- Partner closely with senior leaders to provide deep market insights, set selection criteria, map talent, and guide best-practice assessment methodologies.
- Deliver an exceptional, high-touch experience for candidates at every touchpoint, ensuring prompt feedback and clear, transparent communication.
- Use multi-channel sourcing strategies to proactively target, engage, and build diverse talent pools for hard-to-fill and niche roles.
- Promote Snowy Hydro’s unique Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and embed Diversity principles into every stage of the hiring process.
- Participate in key strategic projects to optimise recruitment workflows, champion new technology, and enhance overall Talent Acquisition operations.
About the location:
This role is preferably based in Cooma, with a relocation package offered for those looking to relocate to the area, though Sydney will also be considered as an alternative base location. Minimum 3 days per week in the office with flexible working options.
About you:
- Demonstrate success in a talent acquisition role—agency or in-house—with strong expertise recruiting technical trades, engineering, or niche skill sets highly regarded.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of sourcing strategies, behavioral and technical interviewing techniques, and candidate assessment tools.
- Utilise outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and influence outcomes with stakeholders.
- Maintain a genuine passion for delivering an empathetic, seamless, and positive candidate experience throughout their journey.
- Take a proactive approach to refining workflows, adopting recruitment technologies, and supporting Diversity initiatives.

Snowy Hydro has a culture of decency and inclusion, with a commitment to the health and wellbeing of our people and a supportive environment to ensure that everyone - regardless of background - feels included and can succeed. At Snowy Hydro, we recognise that we are made stronger by the unique capabilities and qualities that each individual brings, and we believe in providing an environment that allows that uniqueness to thrive.
