Are you a passionate and experienced Mental Health Nurse looking to make a real difference for people experiencing mental health crisis? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Unscheduled Care/Mental Health Assessment Nurse to join our dedicated Unscheduled Care Team. Working across a fast-paced and rewarding service, you will provide specialist assessment, intervention and support for individuals with complex mental health, physical and social care needs. You will play a key leadership role within a multidisciplinary team, helping to deliver responsive, person-centred care across a variety of community and hospital settings. As Scotland's largest NHS organisation, NHSGGC offers excellent opportunities for professional development, leadership growth and the chance to positively influence mental health services across the region.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Full-time, Permanent
- You will be based at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
- Working Pattern: 24hr rotational
- Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and develop person-centred care plans for individuals presenting in crisis
- Provide specialist mental health advice and support to multidisciplinary teams, emergency departments and hospital staff
- Deliver evidence-based interventions and support individuals through periods of acute mental health distress
- Contribute to risk assessment, risk management and decision-making regarding treatment pathways and hospital admissions
- Support, supervise and provide leadership to junior nursing staff, students and members of the wider team
- Liaise effectively with statutory, voluntary and emergency service partners to ensure coordinated patient care
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audit activities and ongoing professional education
- Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
- Significant experience managing individuals with complex mental health needs within a mental health setting
- Specialist knowledge of mental health assessment, risk assessment, risk management and recovery-focused practice
- Evidence of leadership experience including supervision, mentorship and workload management of staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build therapeutic relationships in challenging situations
- Evidence of ongoing professional development with strong knowledge of relevant legislation, governance frameworks and digital healthcare systems
