About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior / Staff Full Stack Engineer to join a high-growth technology team developing AI-powered solutions for scientific research and drug discovery.

This role offers an opportunity to build foundational software systems, develop scalable product capabilities, and contribute to an AI platform that helps pharmaceutical and biotechnology researchers accelerate scientific discovery.

The ideal candidate will bring strong full-stack or backend engineering expertise, a hands-on development mindset, and the ability to take ownership of complex technical initiatives from design through production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver new product features and foundational systems across frontend and backend applications.
• Build, maintain, and scale backend services, REST APIs, GraphQL interfaces, and data pipelines.
• Develop reliable and scalable software components supporting application, identity, data storage, and machine learning layers.
• Take end-to-end ownership of product features, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and AI scientists to translate complex scientific workflows into intuitive, high-performance applications.
• Work in fast-paced development cycles, deliver production-ready code, and respond effectively to evolving product requirements.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and overall engineering quality.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, engineering best practices, and the evolution of the core technology platform.
• Incorporate user feedback and business requirements into continuous product enhancements.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in full-stack software engineering or backend engineering, excluding internships.
• Strong software development fundamentals and experience building production-grade applications.
• Experience designing and developing backend services, APIs, and scalable software systems.
• Practical experience with one or more modern frontend and backend technologies relevant to the specified stack.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex technical problems, and take ownership of deliverables.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile or fast-paced product development environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work in an unfamiliar domain.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Note: A background in biology, biotechnology, or life sciences is not required.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Programming / Backend: Python, Django
• Frontend Development: React
• API Technologies: REST APIs, GraphQL
• Databases: SQL and relational database technologies
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and/or Microsoft Azure
• System Design: Scalable backend architecture, distributed services, and data pipeline design
• Additional Exposure: AI/ML-enabled applications, data-intensive platforms, scientific computing, or knowledge graph-based systems.

Preferred Experience

• Building new software products or core platform capabilities from the ground up.
