Senior/Staff Product Engineer, Applied AI

About the Role

Join an applied AI team building products for a staffing marketplace serving industrial businesses. You will bring AI agents into production workflows and own the backend services and platform that power sourcing, vetting, matching, and worker placement.

What You'll Do

• Identify where AI agents can automate the staffing pipeline and help teams build effectively with AI-assisted tools.

• Design and lead core systems, including real-time matching and automated vetting workflows powered by machine learning and agents.

• Integrate models and agent systems into product experiences in collaboration with the team responsible for the agent platform.

• Shape platform architecture for future product needs and drive backend performance, reliability, and scale.

• Partner across engineering and product on architectural decisions and adapt priorities as business needs evolve.

What We're Looking For

• Five to ten years of software engineering experience, including end-to-end product ownership in early-stage or fast-growing teams.

• Deep experience with Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, and a track record designing distributed systems, APIs, and data models.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Experience building and shipping agentic AI products or integrating AI agents into production systems.

• Strong product judgment and experience delivering scalable projects with speed in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.

• Background in applied AI, matching or recommendation systems, marketplaces, recruiting, or operational software for non-technical users is valuable.

• A technical degree and strong computer science fundamentals.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $200,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California, United States, five days per week.
