Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Public Relations Representative to support the Communications Team within the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Roy, Utah. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you’ll get to do:
As the integrated communications lead, you will be responsible for advancing communication initiatives for employee and external audiences, executing strategic communication campaigns intended to educate and inform our employees and suppliers, and build informed public support for Strategic Deterrence Systems programs. You will uncover and promote compelling innovation stories, enable our cohesive, innovative employee culture through events and communication programming, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and executing strategic media campaigns
• Creating, writing and editing communications materials to educate and inform employee and external audiences
• Providing crisis communications support and managing high-stakes media moments
• Collaborating with digital, marketing, employee and program communications teams to ensure consistent, powerful messaging
• Preparing written, video and graphic content for public release

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with five plus years of experience, developing and deploying communications practices, or a Master’s degree with three years of experience A high school diploma/ equivalent with an additional four years of experience to considered in lieu of degree.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and collaborate with multiple diverse stakeholders
Experience writing memos, speeches and content for websites and/or social media platforms
Experience with strategic and integrated employee communications while overseeing and developing integrated communications plans.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with ability to develop compelling presentations for executives and key influencers
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field from an accredited university
Aerospace and defense experience and/or Experience working in the U.S. Department of Defense industry, with a basic understanding of DoD business
Familiarity with Associated Press Style writing
Experience consolidating and presenting data using measurements tools and software
Experience with SharePoint
Experience working in a large, matrixed and/or geographically dispersed organization
An ability to digest complex concepts and communicate them in simple, effective ways
Comfort with change in a fast-paced, empowered work environment
Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently
