Provides technical support/leadership for AM Fire & Security by managing emergency medical and firefighting services, as well as the supervising of all routine and emergency security activities during assigned shifts for the AM Calvert site . The Basics: Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management , or similar field; or 5-10 years Fire/EMS experience in mill environment. High School Diploma/ GED required. Active/valid/current Driver’s License. Alabama Professional Standards Fire Fighter I and II certification. Current Nationally Registered or State of Alabama EMT-B or EMT-P certification. Comfortable with tablet and interactive app use Computer skills including Microsoft Office Products. Demonstrate high accountability, leading by example. Results driven with capability of dealing with uncertainty. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Demonstrate the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability. Ensures shift is staffed and adequate coverage for all emergency responses, security functions and shift responsibilities. Ensures departmental alignment with site policy and procedure. Ensures notification is maintained of all hot works, road and hydrant outages, sprinkler system outages, and emergency equipment placed out of service. Ensures shift records and reports are completed each shift. Directs the shift in performing all required emergency preparedness, fire prevention activities and security responsibilities. Conducts annual performance appraisal of shift personnel. Directs the maintenance and accountability of emergency/security response vehicles. Safety Inspection and incident reporting. Leads pre-emergency planning and applicable training. Provides interface with off-site personnel in response to emergency conditions. Prepares and maintains reports and records documenting potential hazards and site hazards including the status of equipment and systems. Ensures open communication with AM Fire & Security management. Assists in the development of Work Instructions and hazard analysis. Ensures all apparatus is inspected and maintained, with proper documentation completed. Assist the training division with shift drills in all areas of response. Directs, manages, and completes projects assigned by the EMS team manager. Conducts fire/safety/security audits of all departmental facilities Direct monthly personal protective equipment inspections and complete necessary documentation. Manages and reviews shift personnel timesheets for accuracy prior to signing timesheet. Ensure timesheet is complete and accurate at all times Performs the duties of Incident Commander after normal business hours and/or until the EMS Area Manager or the first EMS Team Manager arrives on scene. Maintains a position within the Incident Command System as assigned.
