Based in Leicester, we are an established team within Motorola Solutions, expanding our technology capabilities across the UK and beyond. Our Guardian Mobile MDT and Mobilisation Solutions provide the backbone for emergency response, enabling first responders to deliver a high level of service when every second counts. Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious Software Deployment Engineer to join our Guardian Delivery Engineering team. In this role, you will provide high-performance delivery and system support across our software product suite, ensuring technical configurations and deployments align with strict customer SLAs and internal benchmarks.
Working primarily remote with occasional travel to our Leicester offices and customer sites, you will bridge customer operational needs with internal development teams. You will take technical ownership of deployment tickets, troubleshoot complex software issues, and contribute to continuous product improvement. Key Responsibilities
High-Performance Delivery & Support
Provide high-performance software delivery and technical support in alignment with internal and external SLAs and OLAs
Take end-to-end technical ownership of assigned tickets and deployment issues, investigating root causes and driving resolution from start to finish
Maintain full functional and technical knowledge across all Guardian Mobile products, services, and operational projects
Product & Process Improvement
Collaborate with software development teams to enhance product quality, deliverability, and long-term supportability
Identify and recommend operational improvements to streamline system deployment workflows, reduce fault rates, and lower support costs
Interpret customer requirements to generate reliable technical estimates and execution plans in line with company guidelines
Stakeholder Communication & Security Compliance
Maintain proactive communication with key stakeholders, including customers, managers, and development teams, keeping all parties informed of progress
Ensure strict adherence to Information Security and GDPR policies, maintaining data confidentiality across all operational systems
Actively contribute technical insight to support the implementation of team technology strategy and operational goals
Basic Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Computing, or an engineering discipline
Solid experience in platform management, software support, or deployment within the software industry
Ability to obtain NPPV3 and SC security clearance requiring UK residency
Job Requirements
Technical Expertise
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to navigate deployment workflows and project management methodologies
Project & Design Software to utilize tools such as Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, Halo, or Visio for tracking and specification
Platform Management to oversee software infrastructure configurations, perform technical investigations, and execute system deployments
Language Proficiency to demonstrate an excellent command of English in written and verbal technical communications
Professional Experience
Technical Troubleshooting to analyze complex software issues, log detailed diagnostic data, and drive structured root-cause resolution
Stakeholder Management to build collaborative relationships across development teams, managers, and external clients
Information Security & GDPR to enforce operational security protocols, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
Experience working with UK Fire and Rescue Control Room operations, mobilisation solutions, or Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) software
Exposure to modern cloud infrastructure, server ecosystems, or database environments
