The Role
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will take end-to-end ownership of defined features, services, and technical components within enterprise delivery projects.
You will design, build, deploy, and maintain production software supporting AI-enabled enterprise platforms. You will work closely with senior engineers, architects, and delivery teams while independently managing clearly defined areas of engineering delivery.
All engineers are expected to use AI-assisted development and automation tools to improve productivity, testing, debugging, documentation, and overall delivery quality.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade services, APIs, and integrations.
Own technical components throughout the full development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support.
Develop backend applications using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
Contribute to React-based applications, streaming APIs, and modern web interfaces.
Deploy and operate applications using AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, and CloudWatch.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, automated testing, and observability solutions.
Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression testing strategies.
Contribute to technical designs, code reviews, engineering documentation, and delivery planning.
Investigate and resolve production issues while improving system performance and reliability.
Support junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.
Use AI development tools to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.
Skills and Experience
3-6 years of experience building and supporting production software systems.
Strong software engineering capability in at least one modern programming language, with Python strongly preferred.
Experience designing and operating backend services, APIs, databases, and integrations.
Hands-on experience deploying applications within AWS environments.
Practical knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, observability, infrastructure automation, and DevSecOps practices.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and technical ownership skills.
Ability to deliver reliable engineering outcomes with limited supervision.
Familiarity with React, Node.js, or modern web application development is advantageous.
Desirable Experience
Experience delivering software used in enterprise, regulated, or high-scale environments.
Exposure to AI or large language model applications, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic AI frameworks.
Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools in day-to-day development.
Contributions to reusable tools, libraries, frameworks, or engineering standards adopted by a wider team.
AWS Certified Developer – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification.

Travel and Work Location
Our client supports customers across Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Occasional travel or onsite client engagement may be required depending on project needs.
