Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.
We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test to help develop and maintain high-quality software for our robotics software stack.
This is not a traditional QA role. You will work alongside Software Engineers, Robotics Engineers, DevOps, Systems Engineers, and QA teams to build automated tests, improve test coverage, and help ensure the reliability of our robotics platform. You will gain hands-on experience across simulation, hardware testing, CI/CD, and modern test automation while contributing to the development of a next-generation humanoid robot.
Your Mission
- Contribute to the SW testing and validation of Aeon, Hexagon's next-generation humanoid robot.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests across unit, integration, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, system, and end-to-end testing levels.
- Support the development and maintenance of test frameworks, automation tools, and test infrastructure.
- Work closely with software and robotics engineers to improve software quality, reliability, and testability.
- Help identify, document, and track software quality metrics and test results.
- Contribute to integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in debugging and root-cause analysis of software issues found during testing and integration.
- Support system integration, validation, and testing on real robotic hardware.
- Learn and apply software testing best practices and quality engineering techniques.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment developing innovative robotics technology from prototype to production.
Your Skillset
- BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical discipline.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in software development, software testing, quality engineering, robotics, or a related field.
- Good programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including unit, integration, and system testing.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and methodologies.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and modern software development practices.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Interest in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or distributed software systems.
- Exposure to ROS2, simulation environments, or robotics platforms is a plus.
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary environments.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
What You’ll Get
- Flexible working hours and a hybrid model for real work-life balance
