About the Role
This is a broad, hands-on individual contributor engineering role at an early-stage AI platform startup building agent-driven automation for businesses. You will personally build and ship across one or more of three areas: product, platform, and AI infrastructure. The work spans everything from interaction design and client architecture to distributed systems and production infrastructure, and it matters because the quality of these systems directly determines whether agents feel capable, reliable, and trustworthy to customers.
What You'll Do
Build user-facing product experiences across web and mobile surfaces, making agent delegation feel simple, fast, and intuitive.
Invent clear interaction patterns for assigning work to agents, tracking progress, handling uncertainty, and consuming output.
Own features end to end, from early product thinking through polished production software.
Build backend APIs and services powering identity, workspaces, permissions, billing, payments, and analytics.
Develop reliable infrastructure for connectors, authentication, webhooks, automations, and third-party integrations.
Design clean abstractions and data models that support a fast-moving product.
Build and maintain the agent harness, context management, execution environment, and related AI infrastructure.
Own systems in production and continuously improve their correctness, security, reliability, and operational simplicity.
Prototype quickly, learn directly from customers, and turn the best ideas into durable systems.
What We're Looking For
2 to 10+ years of software engineering experience, depending on level (mid-level through Staff+).
Strong CS fundamentals, with a degree in Computer Science from a competitive program.
Production experience shipping TypeScript across both a Node.js backend and a React frontend.
Hands-on experience with GCP and Docker, including owning deploys and debugging at the container and Linux level.
Currently writing code daily as an individual contributor.
Track record at selective, high-bar engineering organizations with clear progression.
Ability to reason from first principles and follow problems across the full stack wherever they lead.
Experience building production core infrastructure such as databases, distributed systems, compilers, OS internals, or runtime environments is a strong plus.
Founding experience paired with demonstrable technical depth is a plus.
