Sous Chef

Main Tasks

· Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, development, and execution of the menu.

· Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to ensure consistent, high-quality food preparation.

· Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant’s standards.

· Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness in compliance with health and safety regulations.

· Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.

· Assist with cost control and waste management to help maintain profitability.

· Take charge of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.

Personal Attributes and skills required

· Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role.

· Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.

· Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Passion for food, creativity, and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

· Flexibility to work morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
