We're looking for bold, hands-on leaders who wants to help write the next chapter of space history. This isn't a role for the faint of heart or managing from a distance, you'll be in the thick of driving next generation hardware development and delivery for critical space missions headed to the moon, multiple orbits, and enabling some of the most demanding missions flying as well as in concept. As an integral contributor during our growth stage, you'll be eligible to participate in our stock option plan, sharing directly in the value you help create. All stock grants are subject to executive review and approval under the Company's equity plan.

Agile Space Industries is seeking a Specialist Project Manager in beautiful Durango, CO to support the execution of rocket engine programs within Agile’s product portfolio. This position focuses on managing engineering and development activities as products transition from early-stage development through qualification and into full life-cycle support. Responsibilities include technical planning, schedule management, risk and issue mitigation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure technical and programmatic objectives are achieved.


The role requires tracking and reporting key performance metrics across multiple concurrent projects. It also involves maintaining alignment with established program baselines, participating in formal program reviews, and contributing to governance processes in collaboration with the PMO. Success in this role depends on strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, as well as an understanding of project management tools and methodologies such as MS Project, Jira, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Agile or hybrid development frameworks.


Responsibilities:

  • Independently leads mission-critical propulsion projects, often with tight schedules and significant technical risk.
  • Acts as lead interface with internal leadership and external stakeholders/customers.
  • Drives strategic alignment, technical prioritization, and multi-program coordination.
  • May own a portfolio of propulsion subsystems or upgrades.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of project and program management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects with significant technical, financial, and organizational impact
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, risk management, resource planning, scheduling, budgeting, and performance measurement
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating activities across multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems requiring investigation, analysis, strategic thinking, and creative solutions
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience developing and improving operational processes, systems, and organizational practices
  • Ability to influence decisions and gain cooperation from stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Expertise in utilizing project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Agile or hybrid development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace, defense, propulsion, spacecraft, or other highly regulated engineering industry experience
  • Experience managing government, commercial space, or Department of Defense programs
  • Experience leading large-scale development programs involving complex technical integration
  • Demonstrated success implementing PMO process improvements and organizational change initiatives
  • Experience mentoring project managers and developing program management talent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, Program Management, or related discipline
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant project or program management experience
  • Experience leading large, complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end.
Work Schedule: Full Time

A relocation stipend may be available to eligible candidates in accordance with company policy.
