Position Specific Description Key Responsibilities · Direct the preparation, review, and filing of federal and state income tax returns and related filings for NextEra Energy and its affiliated entities. · Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local income tax laws and regulations. · Ensure tax planning strategies are properly reported in the federal and state income tax returns · Support tax planning and M&A teams related to transactions · Provide technical guidance regarding federal and state tax legislation and emerging tax developments. · Support tax controversy in providing information related to federal and state audits · Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals responsible for compliance, reporting, and planning activities. · Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and technology enhancements within the tax function. Job Overview Employees in this job lead, develop, direct, plan and evaluate the organization's tax policy, including compliance with all federal, state, foreign and local tax laws and regulations. Job Duties & Responsibilities • Plans and researches to minimize taxes with absolute integrity • Assists business units with advice on a variety of tax and business related items, including transactions (both intercompany and third party), contracts, reorganizations, and tax related accounting queries • Provides leadership and direction to tax organization • Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications • High School Grad / GED • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience • Experience:12+ years • Supervisor/Management Experience:6+ years Preferred Qualifications • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • Master's - Accounting / Finance • LLM - Master of Laws NextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
