Strategic Projects Lead, Legal

About the Role

This role combines substantive legal expertise with hands-on project leadership at an applied AI research and training data company. You will manage legal expert projects and client relationships while supporting work that helps develop more capable AI systems.

What You'll Do

• Work with AI research teams to develop high-quality datasets based on expert work and reasoning.

• Manage expert teams across fields such as finance, software engineering, and science.

• Own client relationships and legal or research projects from kickoff through completion.

• Collaborate with internal teams on applied AI research and related initiatives.

• Support operational projects and cross-functional work as an early team member.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience in legal practice, legal consulting, or a legal startup, handling substantive legal matters.

• A JD or equivalent qualification, plus an undergraduate degree from a highly regarded university, or standout legal experience as a new graduate.

• Strong legal reasoning and research skills demonstrated through substantive work.

• Experience communicating legal analysis and advice, managing client relationships, and owning matters end to end.

• Experience in a legal role that required availability beyond standard business hours.

• Background in management consulting, investment banking, or a fast-paced startup is valuable.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $150,000 to $200,000. Visa sponsorship is available.
