Strategic Projects Lead (Legal)

About the Role

Join an early-stage applied AI team as its legal projects lead. You will work with legal experts and internal teams to create high-quality training data that helps advanced AI systems improve their reasoning, while owning client projects from start to finish.

What You'll Do

• Work with leading AI research organizations to develop expert legal datasets that support model training and generate revenue.

• Manage teams of legal and other domain experts, coordinating work to deliver rigorous, high-quality results on tight deadlines.

• Partner with internal teams on applied AI research and legal data initiatives.

• Lead cross-functional projects and support operational priorities as an early team member.

• Own client relationships and project execution from kickoff through delivery.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of substantive legal experience in a leading law firm, sophisticated in-house legal team, government or regulatory body, legal technology startup, or legal consulting.

• A JD or equivalent qualification, with experience drafting, negotiating, litigating, or providing legal advice.

• Strong legal reasoning and research skills, with sound judgment about the difference between rigorous analysis and surface-level answers.

• Excellent communication and client management skills, plus the initiative to own projects end to end.

• An undergraduate degree from a US, Canadian, or European university; exceptional experience may be considered in place of a highly selective academic background.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with extended hours when needed, including a weekday schedule and some Sunday availability.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
