Our team is on a mission to build the next generation of AI-powered digital products for the energy industry by implementing practical, high-impact solutions. We are seeking an AI & Software Engineering Student to join our agile Business Transformation group who wants to strengthen their software engineering foundations while gaining practical exposure to applied AI, modern platforms, and end-to-end product delivery.

What you’ll do

• Develop and improve production software by contributing to full-stack applications, integrations, and data solutions used across business and operational teams.
• Gain hands-on experience delivering software products end-to-end by participating in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI-powered applications.
• Work closely with software engineers, domain experts, and stakeholders to build generative AI and data-driven solutions that improve workflows and decision-making.
• Build strong engineering fundamentals by applying version control, code reviews, testing, and secure development practices while managing your workload and continuously expanding your technical skills

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
• Available to begin work in May 2027
• Curiosity and continuous desire for learning
• Team collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Problem isolation and resolution
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge/experience with object-oriented programming, data structures, databases, APIs, generative AI models, and related frameworks.
• Knowledge/experience with Python, Ruby, JavaScript/TypeScript, PostgreSQL or SQL Server, cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, object storage, Databricks, Snowflake, Redis, or similar technologies.

Education

• Must be enrolled in a Software Engineering Undergraduate Program, preferred 3rd or 4th year of study, at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term
• Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
