Mō te tūnga | About the role
As a Support Worker in our Community Hub, you'll help create fun, engaging, and meaningful days for people with intellectual disabilities. You'll support people to build friendships, explore their interests, develop new skills, and be active members of their community.
No two days are the same. One day you might be supporting a group to participate in art, music, cooking, or fitness activities, and the next you could be helping people attend community events, connect with local groups, or enjoy outings in the wider community. The focus is on creating opportunities for people to have fun, make social connections, and live fulfilling lives.
You'll be part of a positive and energetic team that encourages people to try new things, achieve their goals, and take part in activities that are meaningful to them. Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting people to thrive are key to success in this role.
Previous experience is not essential. If you enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude, and are passionate about helping people with intellectual disabilities live great lives, we'd love to hear from you.
