Surgical First Assistant (LSA, CSFA, or RNFA) | General Robotics, Orthopedics, & Spine | Austin, TX
Get a true Monday-Friday schedule in the OR. No call, no weekends, no holidays. This established surgical first assistant group is looking for an LSA, CSFA, or RNFA for a dedicated first assist role covering robotic general surgery, orthopedics, and spine cases. You’ll work directly with the surgeon and OR team in a stable, consistent case mix, with a clear path into management for those who want it. Ability to cross-train but must have either robotics or spine surgery experience.
Schedule
- Monday-Friday, predictable 30-35 hours per week
- No call, no weekends, no holidays
- Some days you’ll be done before 1pm
Compensation and Benefits
- Guaranteed base salary, based on experience
- Quarterly bonus opportunity of approximately $8,000 per year
- Relocation stipend and sign-on bonus up to $15,000

- Upward mobility: first assistants here move into management roles over time
What You’ll Do
- Provide first assist support on robotic general surgery. Assisting through the first assist port, placing trocars, closing fascia and using EEA stapler.
- Provide first assist support on general orthopedics and spine cases. No cranial work or multi-level scoliosis. Working under the microscope, closing fascia, assisting with hardware placement.
What You Bring
- Active LSA credential or current CSFA certification, with eligibility to license in Texas
- RNFA candidates: active Texas RN license or a multistate compact license
- Robotic first assist experience using the da Vinci or orthopedic spine and neuro spine experience
Surgical first assistants across the Austin metro area, including Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Lakeway, and Hutto, are encouraged to apply.
