THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Communications, Marketing & Responsible Banking is looking for a Sustainability Executive based out of Milton Keynes. 3 Month - FTC (with potential to extend) We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Supporting the Sustainability Centre of Excellence in delivering practical sustainability activity across Santander UK. The role works across sustainability strategy and reporting, social impact and engagement, climate and nature strategy, responsible business, and business delivery support. Supporting the translation of agreed sustainability priorities into practical activity for domains and business areas. This includes supporting the development and roll-out of sustainability initiatives, propositions, colleague tools, business guidance, engagement activity and reporting outputs. Providing research, analysis, content, coordination and delivery support to help sustainability activity move from planning into implementation. Working with senior managers and subject matter experts, supporting senior manager engagement with domains and business teams by helping gather business requirements, organise inputs, prepare materials, track progress, identify issues and support follow-up. Ensuring that sustainability activity is clear, practical, evidence-based and aligned to agreed priorities, governance and risk requirements and supporting the delivery of agreed priorities by contributing to workstream activity, preparing outputs, maintaining delivery discipline and escalating issues where appropriate. Supporting colleague engagement activity where required, including Sustainability Connect, Global Sustainability Days and other sustainability engagement moments. This includes preparing content, supporting events, gathering insight, tracking engagement and helping colleagues understand how sustainability connects to customer outcomes, business resilience, responsible banking and day-to-day decision-making. Professional Experience Experience in corporate sustainability strategy and financial services (Preferred) Education • Relevant academic qualification or equivalent professional experience. (Required) Languages English (Required) Hard Skills Developing understanding of banking and financial services, and sustainability. (Required) Good written and verbal communication skills, and organisation skills. (Required) Ability to present information clearly in updates, summaries, trackers, briefings and meeting materials. (Required) Good attention to detail, particularly data, reporting, governance papers, meeting notes and action logs. (Required) Ability to support the roll-out of initiatives, propositions or business guidance without owning the strategy or implementation decision. (Required) Confident using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams and SharePoint and AI. (Required) Soft Skills Ability to work collaboratively across teams and support colleagues to deliver agreed outputs. (Required) Ability to escalate issues, risks, gaps or dependencies appropriately. (Required) Ability to work with guidance from managers and subject matter experts, applying judgement within agreed processes and governance.
