THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Communications, Marketing & Responsible Banking is looking for a Sustainability Manager - Engagement based out of Milton Keynes , reporting into the Head of Social Impact in the Sustainability team. We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Delivering internal engagement activity that raises the profile, understanding and relevance of Santander UK’s sustainability strategy across the bank. Supporting the delivery of colleague engagement initiatives that help colleagues understand how sustainability connects to Santander UK’s strategic priorities, customer outcomes, business resilience, responsible banking and day-to-day decision-making. Developing the Sustainability Connect network as an internal channel for engagement, advocacy and employee upskilling. This includes coordinating network activity, preparing content, organising speaker sessions, tracking engagement and gathering feedback to help improve future activity. Working closely with Sustainability colleagues, P&C and relevant business areas to support colleague engagement around Global Sustainability Days and other key sustainability moments, ensuring activity is aligned with Global and UK priorities and relevant governance requirements. Contributing to wider internal engagement activity that helps embed and deliver the sustainability strategy across Santander UK, making sustainability topics practical, accessible and relevant for colleagues in different teams and business areas. Engaging with other countries and Group on internal colleague engagement relating to sustainability topics. Supporting the Head of Social Impact and Sustainability Centre of Excellence with other relevant tasks as required. WHAT YOU’LL BRING Our people are our greatest strength. Professional Experience Experience in internal communications, sustainability engagement, employee engagement, learning, campaigns or events. (Required) Education Sustainability, responsible business, communications or employee engagement qualification. (Preferred) Languages English (Required) Hard Skills Good understanding of sustainability, responsible banking and ESG issues, with the ability to translate them into practical internal engagement for colleagues. (Required) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and accessible materials for internal audiences.(Required) Experience supporting employee engagement, campaigns, events, learning initiatives or colleague networks. Ability to organise and deliver engagement activity, including agendas, events, speaker sessions, content plans, learning resources and follow-up actions. Ability to manage multiple activities, deadlines and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail and appropriate governance. Awareness of conduct and reputational risks in sustainability. Ability to identify opportunities to improve engagement activity based on colleague insight, feedback and participation data. Understanding of financial services and Santander UK’s business context sufficient to make sustainability topics relevant to colleagues and internal audiences. Soft Skills Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams. Ability to influence without formal authority, using clear communication, good judgement and practical recommendations. Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver common objectives.(Required) Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage colleagues, gather feedback and support constructive cross-functional working.
