MissionHires is seeking a Swiss CNC Applications Engineer on behalf of a company. This role supports pre-sale and post-sale customer projects involving Swiss-style CNC equipment, including turnkey project delivery, machine demonstrations, process development, customer training, and onsite engineering assistance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on sliding headstock CNC experience, strong technical judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
The company has a total of 5 Swiss CNC AE roles, all offering relocation assistance! Locations include: Philadelphia, PA; Fullerton, CA; Minneapolis, MN; and Hartford, CT!
How You'll Contribute
- Lead turnkey projects, customer demonstrations, and related engineering initiatives, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Conduct pre-sale activities, including customer visits, opportunity evaluations, machine assessments, and equipment recommendations.
- Develop part-processing recommendations and turnkey proposals based on customer requirements.
- Create and implement custom machine demonstrations for prospective and existing customers.
- Train customers on the safe setup and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, grinders, Swiss-style lathes, and multitasking machines.
- Provide onsite customer training and engineering support as needed.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, engineering reports, and technical documentation.
- Interpret engineering plans, specifications, and customer part requirements.
- Maintain current, in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and represented product lines.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Experience in engineering and manufacturing environments involving sliding headstock (Swiss) CNC machine tools.
- Working knowledge of Fanuc-based CNC controls.
- Ability to evaluate machining opportunities, assess technical requirements, and make sound recommendations.
- Ability to think quickly, assess situations effectively, and make sound decisions.
- Strong customer-facing communication and training skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites for training and engineering assistance.
- Experience with 5-axis machining is a plus.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is preferred but not required.
- 5 years experience with SWISS preferred.
