Your opportunity to train apprentices CQUniversity is seeking experienced Diesel Fitters and Heavy Automotive professionals to pass on their skills and help shape the next generation of tradespeople! As a TAFE Teacher , you will mentor, guide and influence the future tradespeople of our region. You’ll deliver practical, hands-on training across heavy vehicle, mobile plant and diesel fitting disciplines. Drawing on your industry experience, you will help students develop the technical skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the trades. Your week CQUniversity operates under a structured Vocational Education and Training (VET) workload model that recognises both teaching time and the work done outside the classroom environment. 36.25 hrs/week (full-time) including teaching, preparation, marking and student support. Teaching time is typically 22 hrs/week, with up to 25 hrs by agreement – no more than 9 teaching hours in a day. Preparation and marking are included in your paid hours – not done in your own time. Demonstrated current industry skills directly relevant to the training/assessment being delivered. Willingness to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (fully funded), or currently hold TAE40110 or higher. Knowledge of the education and training sector and the ability to positively respond to new directions of the training market.
