Senior Talent Acquisition Manager (First Talent Hire) | San Francisco, CA (On-site)
We’re a venture-backed AI company building agentic technology that runs finance operations for large enterprises. We’re growing from about 40 to 90+ people over the next 12 months and need someone to own recruiting from day one. This is a high-visibility role with a clear path to Head of Talent or Head of People.
Compensation: $150K-$190K base plus competitive equity (4-year vest, 1-year cliff). $5K relocation support.
About the role
We’re looking for a high-agency startup recruiter who is great at hiring customer-facing roles and wants to build a talent function from the ground up. Most of your volume will be Forward Deployed Engineers and AI Strategists, with sales, product, and platform roles as they come up.
What you’ll do
- Own hiring from first contact to signed offer for every open role
- Partner with hiring managers to build a scorecard for each new role, coordinate our proven interview loops, and run reference checks on every hire
- Source and reach out to strong people who aren’t actively job hunting, using AI sourcing tools such as Juicebox
- Manage external recruiting partners and executive search firms, and hold them to our bar
- Manage a junior recruiter as the team grows
- Spend about 10% of your time on people ops, including immigration paperwork, payroll and benefits setup, and HRIS administration
What we’re looking for
- 4-8 years of experience as a technical recruiter or talent acquisition manager
- At least 2 years of in-house recruiting experience
- A track record of hiring customer-facing and technical roles at a fast-growing startup
- Comfort with AI-enabled sourcing and a bias toward ownership and speed
Location and work policy
- Full-time, 5 days per week on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area
- Open to visa transfers (e.g., OPT, H1B transfers)
