Teacher of Visual Arts

About the Position

WABE International School is looking for an Art and Textiles teacher with experience in teaching grades 2-10. This is a full-time classroom position (40 hours per week), initially for a maternity cover until July 2027. This teacher will also teach some courses during our afternoon program as required such as Ceramics class and Art Guild.

Responsibilities & Expectations

· Prepare & teach high quality Visual Arts lessons to students.

· Prepare & teach lessons in sister subjects and/or afternoon program sessions as needed.

· Be committed to Child Safeguarding practices and conduct yourself within them.

· Administer and model WIS’s school policies and procedures.

· Maintain a gradebook in line with organisational requirements that is backed by fair, accurate and transparent assessments.

· Communicate in a timely, respectful and situationally appropriate manner between students, teachers and parents.

· Participate in collaboration sessions, conferences and school-wide events.

· Engage in professional development.

· Support the school’s commitment to being a diverse, inclusive community.

· Be comfortable using technology to support learning and lesson delivery.

**Please note that Permissions/a Visa already in place to work in Germany is an advantage given the start date.

Qualifications

Required

· Minimum of 2 years of applicable teaching experience

· Mother tongue level English

· Education:

o Master’s degree in Visual Art or other related subject

o Bachelor’s degree in Visual Art

o Valid teaching qualification and license (PGCE/QTS or equivalent)
