Team Lead - Production Test Development

The Opportunity

This is a highly technical leadership role, combining approximately:

• 80% hands-on engineering
• 20% technical leadership and coordination

You will play a key role in the continued development and evolution of a sophisticated LabVIEW/TestStand framework, supporting the industrialization and production of advanced photonics products while providing technical direction, coordination, and guidance to a team of specialists.

The team works closely with emerging technologies and supports products used within Quantum Computing, Quantum Sensing, Life Sciences and Advanced Industrial Applications. While the team supports production test development, a significant part of the work takes place close to R&D and early product maturation activities.

You will work closely with some of the organization’s most experienced specialists and play a central role in securing, evolving, and transferring critical technical knowledge for future generations of products.

Importantly, this is not a people management role, but a position where leadership is exercised through technical expertise, coaching, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Further develop and help shape the future direction of Hamamatsu's LabVIEW/TestStand framework
• Design, code and implement automated test solutions using LabVIEW and TestStand
• Support product industrialization and manufacturing excellence
• Drive continuous improvements across test architectures and methodologies
• Collaborate closely with R&D, Product Owners, and Production teams
• Ensure robust data collection, analysis, and traceability
• Provide technical leadership and coordination for a small team of highly specialised engineers and test development specialists
• Facilitate technical alignment, prioritization, and knowledge sharing
• Support the evolution of future testing technologies and frameworks

Profile

You are likely a Senior Test Engineer, Test Architect, LabVIEW/TestStand Engineer, Technical Specialist, Team Lead, Technical Lead, or similar with a strong track record in developing complex automated test environments.

You thrive in technically demanding environments and enjoy influencing experienced specialists through knowledge, credibility, and collaboration.
