Tech Lead C++

A leading quantitative trading and technology firm is looking for an experienced C++ Tech Lead to join its Dublin office. This is an opportunity to lead a team building high-performance trading systems that operate in a highly demanding, real-time environment where technology is a key driver of business success.

Working closely with engineers, traders and quantitative researchers, you'll help define technical direction, mentor developers, and deliver scalable, low-latency solutions that directly impact trading performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of C++ engineers, providing technical guidance and promoting engineering best practices.
• Drive the design and development of mission-critical, high-performance systems.
• Collaborate with trading and quantitative teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Own architecture decisions, code quality, and long-term technical strategy.
• Optimise systems for performance, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Contribute to hands-on development while balancing leadership responsibilities.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
  
  

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing complex systems in modern C++.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, multithreading, concurrency and performance optimisation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering large-scale projects.
• Experience working in performance-sensitive environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  
  

Desirable

• Experience in quantitative trading, capital markets, market making or other fast-paced financial environments.
• Knowledge of Linux, distributed systems and low-latency development.
• Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages.
