Job Description
We are seeking an ambitious, technically minded Systems Engineer to join our Guardian Mobile delivery team. Designed for a high-performing graduate, this role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of complex infrastructure, systems integration, and deployment environments for strategic blue-light emergency services customers across the UK.
Bridging the gap between operational needs and enterprise architecture, you will collaborate closely with Technical Project Managers to validate system designs and execute technical configurations from contract award through to go-live. Because our products support life-critical situations, you will apply a rigorous, highly analytical engineering approach to ensure high availability and resilience across every deployment. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is valued.
Key Responsibilities
Project Governance & Delivery Leadership
Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, risk registers (RAID logs), Requests for Change (RFCs), requirements documentation, contract changes, and financial tracking
Lead and coordinate agile delivery teams, including business analysts and quality assurance engineers, from contract award through to deployment and customer sign-off
Oversee solution development and testing schedules in alignment with agreed project timelines and quality standards
Customer Requirements & Technical Strategy
Capture and document customer operational requirements, performing in-depth business process and technical analysis
Translate operational needs into clear solution specifications and system designs agreed upon with key customer stakeholders
Guide delivery strategy and communicate technical roadmaps clearly between customer leads and product development teams
Stakeholder Management & Relationship Building
Act as the primary technical and operational point of contact for strategic customers regarding deployment and integration activities
Manage customer relationships effectively through structured remote engagement and on-site visits across UK customer locations
Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure task completion within defined project scope and timeframes
Basic Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Computing, or an engineering discipline
Solid experience managing the delivery of large, complex software solutions to major enterprise or public sector customers
Ability to obtain NPPV3 and SC security clearance requiring UK residency

Technical Expertise
Agile Software Delivery to lead cross-functional agile teams and execute modern software deployment models
Technical Requirements Analysis to capture business processes and translate operational needs into technical specifications
Complex Software Architecture to evaluate infrastructure dependencies and communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders
Language Proficiency to demonstrate an excellent command of English in written and verbal technical communications
Professional Experience
Technical Stakeholder Engagement to build trust, manage customer expectations, and lead matrixed project resources
Virtual Team Leadership to motivate and guide cross-functional project teams across engineering, QA, and business analysis
Project Governance to maintain project documentation, RAID logs, financial tracking, and change control mechanisms
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
Agile Project Management certification (or actively working towards certification)
Direct experience with UK Fire and Rescue Control Room operations, mobilisation solutions, or Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) software
