Technical Solution Architect/Consultant
- Location: Singapore-based (Hybrid), but expected to travel overseas
- 5-8 YoE as the same level
- Candidates must be full-time dedicated for the role.
SUMMARY
🌍 Client: Singapore IoT company
📍 Open to applicant: Singapore, Vietnam & Malaysia, we will provide Visa Sponsor.
💼 Salary: SGD 8,500 - 9,500/month, open to negotiate higher for exceptional candidates
🗣 English: Fluently
🚀 Fulltime Hybrid, 10am-7pm SGT, Monday to Friday. We are not open for part-time or 2nd-job.
🎯 THE ROLE: This is not a ticket-forwarding or demo-only role. You are expected to independently diagnose, architect, defend, and document customer-ready solutions.
- Act as the hardcore technical anchor, architecting and personally coding/scripting full-stack IIoT solutions (Sensors, Edge, Cloud, and AI) for industrial clients.
- Lead technical discovery, run hands-on Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and troubleshoot complex connectivity issues directly on the factory floor.
- Bridge the gap between R&D and clients by translating complex machine behaviors into actionable software/hardware blueprints.
💎 NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Highly Technical Depth: Strong hands-on coding background (Python, C/C++, or C#). You must be able to reason from first principles and script custom fixes/protocols rather than just configuring third-party dashboards.
- "Been There, Done That" IIoT Breadth: 5+ years of real-world experience deploying solutions in heavy environments (Manufacturing, Maritime, or Logistics).
- Deep, practical knowledge of physical connectivity protocols (Modbus, Profinet, MQTT, OPC-UA, or CAN bus) and hardware/sensors (e.g., PLCs, Vision Systems).
- Excellent English communication to lead technical workshops with enterprise clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics, Automation, or related tech fields.
❌ PROFILES WE AVOID
- Surface-level/Low-code experts: Those who only know how to drag-and-drop or use generic templates without understanding the underlying code/hardware logic.
- "Postman" types: People who just collect errors from clients and pass them to the backend team without investigating or scripting the solution themselves.
ROLE OVERVIEW
- You will be responsible for architecting, validating, and demonstrating our solutions for enterprise and government customers. Your position as a competent and strategic adviser will deepen confidence in the technical feasibility, reliability, and business value of our proposals.
- You will work across early discovery, solution design, technical documentation, Proof-of-concept configuration, and post-sales transition, acting as the technical anchor for all customer engagements. You will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and expansion by driving maintenance operational excellence and enhancing their reliability programs.
- You’ll work daily with a global team of engineers, product experts, and decision-makers to drive adoption, manage long-term relationships, and unlock growth opportunities. If you thrive on creating impact, solving complex problems, and building strong client partnerships, we are the place for you. We’ve won multiple prestigious awards and recognitions, but what excites us most is building a better, smarter industrial world, with you on board.
- You will be expected to independently lead technical discovery, design customer-ready architectures, defend deployment trade-offs, and produce clear solution documentation for enterprise and government customers.
THE CORE CHALLENGE
Our customers often have complex requirements:
- They may want to host the solution in their own cloud
- They may require on-premise deployment
- They may have restricted networks or limited internet connectivity
- Their cybersecurity teams may impose strict OT/IT rules
- Their asset hierarchy and data quality may be messy
- Their maintenance systems may be legacy or lack APIs
- They may need assurance that our AI models, software, and IP are protected
- They may need a clear ROI case before approving deployment
Your job is to design solutions that work technically, satisfy the customer’s constraints, protect our interests, and can actually be supported after go-live.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a Technical Pre-Sales or Solution Architect role for industrial IoT, OT/IT, enterprise architecture, industrial automation, predictive maintenance, asset performance management, or technical solution consulting
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a business-driven mindset and a strong sense of ownership.
- Strong technical experience in IoT/ICT systems, networking, cloud services, and system integration.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineers and business leaders.
- Strong documentation ability: architecture diagrams, technical proposals, deployment plans, and solution blueprints.
- Willingness to travel regionally for customer workshops, site assessments, partner engagements, and deployment planning.
- Experience collaborating across BD, Engineering, Delivery, and Customer Success teams.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, learning rapidly and independently.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Experience with at least some of the following: MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, Profinet, CAN bus, BACnet, REST APIs, webhooks, SCADA, MES, CMMS, ERP, historians, or industrial gateways.
- Ability to reason through customer-cloud, hybrid, and on-premise deployment models.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles in enterprise or industrial environments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
PROFILES THAT ARE NOT A FIT
This role is likely not suitable if you are mainly:
- A generic SaaS pre-sales demo person
- A business analyst who only gathers requirements
- A project manager without architecture ownership
- A pure software developer without customer-facing experience
- A pure DevOps engineer who only handles deployment tooling
- A pure IT infrastructure engineer with no industrial IoT exposure
- A PLC/MES/WMS implementation consultant who cannot design a broader sensor-to-platform architecture
- Someone who relies on engineering to solve every technical question
We need someone who can independently produce a credible first-cut architecture and defend it in front of customers.
