Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting utility and power infrastructure projects throughout the high desert and mountain regions of the Southwestern U.S. This position will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of transmission line projects ranging from 34kV and above. The engineer will work closely with clients, potentially in an embedded capacity, while collaborating with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to support the safe and efficient delivery of transmission infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze transmission line systems, including structures, conductors, and foundations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with design standards and applicable safety requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and clients throughout project execution.
- Utilize transmission line modeling and analysis software to support engineering design and system performance.
- Stay current with applicable industry standards, engineering practices, and transmission line design requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering experience related to transmission line projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain it.
- Experience utilizing transmission line design and analysis software such as PLS-CADD and/or PLS-POLE.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical and structural engineering principles as they relate to transmission line design.
Compensation & Benefits
The position offers a base salary of $100,000–$150,000, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus based on company guidelines.
