The Project

Zinfra has been selected to play a key role in delivering Powerlink’s energy transition across Central Queensland, a region at the heart of Australia’s evolving energy landscape.

Over the next 5–10 years, Powerlink is undertaking a major program of transmission infrastructure works to strengthen the network, support new renewable energy generation and enable the growing electrification industry. This includes new overhead transmission lines, substations and major network upgrades.

The Calvale to Calliope River Transmission Line is the first major project in this exciting program.

Zinfra will deliver 67 kilometres of new high-voltage transmission line, between Calvale and Calliope River substations. The scope includes construction and stringing of 145 double circuit steel transmission line towers creating critical infrastructure to support the region’s future energy needs.

This is more than a major infrastructure project, it’s an opportunity to be part of Queensland’s energy transformation and work on a high-profile program that will have a lasting impact on how energy is transmitted across the state

About The Role

We’re seeking experienced Transmission Lineworkers and Crew Leaders to join our project teams. In these key roles, you’ll lead and work alongside established and well organised crews on high-profile energy infrastructure projects that are helping power the future of Queensland. Your contribution will play a vital part in delivering clean, affordable, and reliable electricity to homes and businesses.

This is a full-time, permanent FIFO opportunity offering a 19 days on, 9 days off roster with your travel days on the 1st and 19th day of your roster.

Flights are provided from most major airports across Australia, with accommodation and meals fully provided. You’ll stay in modern, new camp facilities offering a comfortable lock-and-leave lifestyle, with the camp conveniently located less than 15 minutes from the main project office / yard.

Work Includes

  • Assemble and erect high-voltage transmission lines
  • Conductor stringing (including cutting-in strain towers and clamping in)
  • OPGW stringing (including cleating down, etc)
  • Perform inspections to ensure quality and HSE standards are met.
  • Interpret technical drawings and diagrams
  • Operate plant and equipment as required for project tasks

About You

You’ll bring solid experience, a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Proven experience in all aspect’s of transmission line construction
  • Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead (an added advantage)
  • Electrical Licence
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence,
  • OHS Construction Induction card (White/Blue/Red card),
  • High Risk Work Licence (EWP, Dogging, Advance Rigging);
  • First Aid Training
  • Work at Heights & Tower Rescue Training
