Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for enthusiastic and skilled practitioners to join our Mental Health Liaison Team based at Worthing Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface between physical and mental health, providing specialist mental health assessments and support for adults presenting to the acute hospital.

Whether supporting someone experiencing a mental health crisis for the first time, working with patients who have complex physical and psychological needs, or helping colleagues navigate challenging situations, you'll play a vital role in delivering compassionate and responsive care when it matters most.

The opportunity

As part of our Mental Health Liaison Team, you'll provide specialist mental health assessment, advice and intervention for patients attending Worthing Hospital.

Working closely with acute hospital colleagues, you'll help ensure patients receive timely mental health support while contributing to a service that continues to develop towards CORE 24 standards.

Following the integration of Older Persons Liaison Services, our team now supports adults aged 18 and over, offering a diverse and rewarding caseload that will challenge and develop your skills.

You'll also work closely with other urgent care services including the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team and The Haven, helping to deliver joined-up mental health care across the local system.

What you'll be doing

• Undertaking comprehensive mental health assessments within the acute hospital setting

• Supporting patients experiencing crisis, distress and complex mental health difficulties

• Providing specialist mental health advice to acute hospital colleagues

• Working collaboratively with patients, carers and partner organisations

• Contributing to risk assessment, care planning and safeguarding processes

• Supporting teaching, awareness and understanding of mental health across hospital services

• Working flexibly across the Trust's urgent care pathway where required

About you

We're looking for confident and compassionate practitioners who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You may be a:

• Registered Mental Health Nurse

• Registered Occupational Therapist

• Registered Social Worker

You'll have strong assessment and communication skills, experience working with people experiencing mental health difficulties and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about delivering person-centred care and supporting people at some of the most challenging moments in their lives.
