An exciting opportunity is available for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Palmer Barracks, South Guildford, WA . As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and armoured tanks. About the Role Conduct maintenance tasks, including technical inspections and vehicle classifications. Repair or replace worn or faulty components, including assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials. Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts. Carry out minor body and trim repairs. Test and repair vehicle electrical systems, including lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection systems. Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates where authorised. Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation. About You Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent. Demonstrated experience inspecting, repairing and maintaining light, medium and heavy vehicles. Current Australian State or Territory Class C Driver's Licence. Experience using maintenance management systems and strong computer literacy skills. Experience within a Defence or military maintenance environment, including SAP, will be highly regarded. Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement. You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
