The Opportunity

We're seeking a compassionate veterinarian to help our thriving practice keep growing. All levels of experience will be considered — the ideal candidate is friendly, personable, and a team player who wants to do great medicine alongside people they like. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new grad looking for real mentorship, and experience with exotics is a plus (but not a requirement).

About the Hospital

Animal Medical Clinic has proudly served the Macalester-Groveland area of St. Paul since 1973. We recognize the deep, familial bond between people and their pets, and we work hard to help every patient live a long, healthy life. Our clinic is well-equipped for high-quality medicine, with digital radiology, ultrasound, tonometry, in-house blood analyzers, surgical and therapy laser, electronic medical records, and more.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

• Examine patients to assess health and diagnose problems
• Treat and dress wounds
• Perform surgery
• Test for and vaccinate against disease
• Operate medical equipment, including x-ray machines
• Advise owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatment options
• Prescribe medication
• Collaborate closely with the team to deliver high-quality care

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
• Licensure (or eligibility) in Minnesota
• New grads welcome — mentorship is built in
• Interest in exotics a plus, not required
• Genuine compassion for both pets and the people who love them
• Skilled, precise hands and excellent dexterity handling animals
• The composure to make fast, sound decisions when an animal's wellbeing is on the line
• A real understanding of animals and their behavior
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
