Supervises the maintenance and logistics warehouse material handlers, clerks, and others in the receipt, inventory, pick-up, delivery, processing, shredding, and distribution of supplies, materials, food, forms, furniture, and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supervises the receipt, inventory, and processing of supplies, materials, forms, furniture, equipment, and informational materials received from BCPS offices and vendors. Supervises the distribution of forms to schools, offices, employees, retirees, and others. Plans schedules and reviews the work of warehouse employees.
- Supervises the operation of logistics center facilities. Monitors and controls stock levels using the automated inventory system. Contacts vendors to research the availability of items. Locates suppliers and sets up accounts.
- Supervises and assists in the receipt, storage, delivery, and issuance of supplies and equipment. Supervises material handlers and others in the handling and delivery of items. Plans, schedules, and coordinates delivery schedules and assignments. Overseas the mail operations for BCPS and supervises the mail clerks at Logistics warehouse and Greenwood mailroom.
- Trains staff in the operation of inventory control system, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Schedules maintenance of assigned equipment. Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Monitors budgets and collaborates with the Sr. Operations Supervisor and Manager of Logistics regarding spending and projections to ensure accounts are maintained and funds are available when needed. Verifies invoices for payment and investigates and resolves any related discrepancies.
- Evaluates the performance of assigned staff. Ensures transitional duty employees are working within physical capacity.
- Communicates with BCPS offices and others regarding the receipt, transfer, and delivery of supplies and materials.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Possession of a high school diploma or an equivalent.
- An associate degree or an equivalent 60 college credits preferred.
- Five years of physical distribution, inventory, and warehousing experience.
Supervisory experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certificates:
- Possession of a valid class C Maryland driver's license or an equivalent is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of receiving, storing, issuing, and distribution of supplies, materials, furniture, equipment, and forms.
- Thorough knowledge of inventory maintenance and control.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of procurement.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines.
- Knowledge of the safe operation of a warehouse and mail center.
- Skill in receipt, storage, issuance, and distribution of supplies, materials, furniture, equipment, and forms.
- Skill in the handling and processing of inter-office and stamped mail.
- Skill in the maintenance of inventory.
- Skill in the preparation of reports and maintenance of records relating to distribution activities.
- Skill in the operation of material handling equipment.
- Skill in training others in the safe care and operation of material handling equipment.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate the operations of a warehouse facility and mail center.
- Ability to supervise material handlers, clerks, students, and others.
Ability to communicate effectively.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class involves frequent walking and standing, working at heights, lifting and carrying objects of moderate to heavy weight (up to 60 pounds), and the use of coordinative and manipulative skills in the operation of material handling equipment. Work requires exposure to a warehouse and shop environments that include exposure to dust, dirt, chemicals, machinery, and equipment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Persons appointed to this position are designated as Essential as Needed personnel and are required to work when schools and/or offices are closed during adverse weather conditions or any other emergency when directed to do so. Employees may be required to work beyond their normally scheduled hours with little or no advanced notice.
FLSA: Exempt
RETIREMENT: Eligible for the Baltimore County Employees’ Retirement System.

SALARY: $72,222 - $116,166

OTHER COMPENSATION: Position may be eligible for relocation bonus, extra duty activities pay, or other student activities pay as defined in the applicable Bargaining Unit Agreement.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
- All people employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (per COMAR) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $109.
- Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
- If you have military experience, you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
- Official transcripts will be required upon hire and must be sent via e-script/clearinghouse from your university.
- Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
