Web Developer & AI Automation Engineer

We are partnering with an enterprise client to build their next-generation web presence and automated internal content ecosystems. We are seeking a forward-thinking Web Developer & AI Automation Engineer to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of high-performance web platforms and generative automation pipelines.

This is a cutting-edge role designed for a developer who looks beyond traditional SEO and builds web architectures engineered for Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)—ensuring digital assets are cleanly crawled, indexed, and cited by AI search engines like Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and ChatGPT. You will build lightweight web applications, establish machine-readable data layers, and design end-to-end automated pipelines that generate and publish structured, authoritative content.

Core Responsibilities

• AI-Ready Web Development: Build and maintain lightning-fast websites and content portals optimised for extraction by modern AI crawlers (e.g., GPTBot, ClaudeBot, OAI-SearchBot).
• JSON-LD Schema Engineering: Implement structured data layouts and entity schemas (Article, FAQ, Organisation) to give AI models uninterrupted access to machine-readable facts and eliminate hallucinations.
• Workflow Automation & Orchestration: Build fully automated content pipelines using visual automation platforms (n8n or Make) paired with the Claude / OpenAI API to generate, format, and publish in-depth technical articles automatically.
• API & Endpoint Architecture: Design and deploy clean REST APIs and endpoints that allow AI search agents to retrieve dynamic, real-time platform data smoothly.
• Amplification Pipelines: Connect automated workflows to distribution channels to programmatically repurpose long-form articles into structured social assets, expanding digital footprint velocity.
• Performance & Core Web Vitals: Optimise site speed, semantic HTML structures, and responsive rendering across all viewports.

Selection Criteria

• Web Development Mastery: Proven commercial experience in modern frontend web development (HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, modern lightweight frameworks).
• LLM API Integration: Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (specifically Anthropic Claude or OpenAI) into functional workflows or software applications.
• Structured Data & Schemas: In-depth understanding of JSON-LD data structures, semantic web standards, REST APIs, and endpoint management.
• Workflow Automation: Strong working knowledge of automation platforms (n8n, Make) or custom scripting in Python / Node.js for web scraping, transformation, and automated publishing.
• Location Requirements: Currently residing in Australia with valid work rights or eligibility for 482 visa sponsorship/transfer.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Direct experience experimenting with or implementing Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) strategies.
• Familiarity with headless CMS architectures (Strapi, Sanity, Ghost, or WordPress REST API).
• Exposure to automated image/asset generation via Canvas/SVG rendering or AI image models.
