Gap Inc. seeks a mid-level Full Stack Developer to provide strategic direction and execution across infrastructure, security, continuous integration, deployment, and IT operations, with a focus on a cloud-based commerce platform. Responsibilities include running day-to-day operations of production and development infrastructure, simplifying and streamlining processes to increase scalability and reliability, improving efficiency, minimizing errors, and partnering with Development and QA teams to continuously improve existing features and roll out new services while ensuring high availability of the platform. Role is remote with an assignment scheduled from 2025-11-18 to 2026-05-17. Expertise required includes Java, Spring Boot, Microsoft Azure (including AKS), Kafka, MongoDB, and AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, and Claude. Desired skills and tools span operating systems (Linux, Windows); web application support (Ruby- and Java-based); scripting (Ruby, Perl, Python, Bash, Awk, PHP); cloud/virtualization (ESXi, EC2, Rackspace Cloud, Hypervisor, KVM, Xen, VDI); build automation (Jenkins, Hudson, CruiseControl, Electric Commander); systems automation and provisioning (Chef, Puppet, Cfengine, Babushka, Knife, MCollective, Func, Kickstart, PXE); large-scale databases and big data (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra, Hadoop); test-driven development (junit, phpunit, RSpec, Cucumber); middleware (MQ); caching (CDN, Varnish, memcached, Redis); high availability strategies (HAProxy, Global Traffic Management, multiple datacenters, Geo DNS, failable architecture); SDLC support; monitoring (Nagios, Ganglia, CollectD, Graphite); performance testing and analysis; package management (Aptitude/dpkg, Yum/RPM); single sign-on (LDAP, Kerberos, Open Directory, PAM); common Unix services (NFS, NTP, Apache, nginx); security frameworks and tools (IP Tables, Nessus, nmap); F5 BIG-IP/Viprion; Agile environment experience; critical thinking and research-oriented problem solving; REST APIs using XML and JSON; and familiarity with IBM 4690 OS and AI technologies/tools in development frameworks.
