Project Context This role supports a large-scale enterprise delivery program focused on establishing and elevating enterprise-grade automated quality assurance practices across a sophisticated, cloud-native application ecosystem. The architecture balances rich, consumer-facing front ends with highly performant backend microservices. The environment demands a strong focus on maintaining rapid regression testing velocity and continuous product quality while bridging the gap between fast deployment cadences and bulletproof application reliability. Role Overview We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead the design, execution, and scaling of our automated testing strategies. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring continuous product quality and flawless system stability across both UI and backend microservices layers. The selected professional will work within large-scale, agile software engineering teams, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to implement shift-left testing practices, integrate automated quality gates into deployment pipelines, and build robust testing frameworks from scratch. Key Responsibilities Framework Architecture & Design: Design, build, and scale automated testing frameworks from scratch to support both web application UIs (User Interfaces) and complex backend APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). UI Automation: Implement and maintain robust end-to-end (E2E) UI test suites to validate complex workflows across modern web applications. API & Service Testing: Develop automation scripts to thoroughly validate RESTful, GraphQL, and microservice layer protocols. Behavior-Driven Development: Partner with product owners and business analysts to translate technical and business requirements into executable automation specs utilizing BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) frameworks. CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites directly into deployment pipelines to support shift-left testing practices, ensuring automated quality gates trigger on every build. Test Maintenance & Debugging: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and refactor flaky or failing test scripts, providing clear and concise bug reports and quality metrics to engineering squads. Required Qualifications Senior-level experience as a QA Automation Engineer working with large-scale, agile software engineering teams. Core Automation Stack (UI): Deep proficiency in modern UI testing engines. Direct experience with Playwright OR Selenium WebDriver is required. Core Programming & Ecosystem: Strong programming foundation in Java , including experience with build automation tools like Gradle (or equivalent, such as Maven). BDD Frameworks: Solid hands-on experience using Cucumber for defining and executing human-readable automation test scenarios. API Testing Layer: Comprehensive experience testing web services using tools like REST Assured . DevOps Pipelines: Familiarity with continuous integration servers, specifically Jenkins , to execute automated regression test runs. Nice to Have Qualifications Advanced Protocols & APIs: Experience executing automated contract or integration tests over modern streaming or data protocols like gRPC (Google Remote Procedure Call) or GraphQL . Framework Integrations: Direct experience utilizing Spring Boot frameworks inside the QA testing layer for dependency injection or configuration management. Cloud Infrastructure: Experience running test grids or headless cross-browser automation within cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP ). Work Modality Remote position from LATAM.
