Zoos Victoria operates four landmark zoos, Healesville Sanctuary, Kyabram Fauna Park, Melbourne Zoo and Werribee Open Range Zoo. Victoria's zoos are made up of passionate, energetic and driven employees committed to fighting wildlife extinction. Every person, from the extensive range of disciplines, plays an important role in helping the organisation realise its vision to become a world leading zoo-based conservation organisation.
The Corporate Planning & Governance Analyst plays a key role in delivering a contemporary, system-enabled approach to corporate planning, performance and governance across Zoos Victoria. The role supports the centralisation of planning, reporting and compliance processes, working with stakeholders to embed structured, scalable and user-friendly approaches that improve consistency, transparency and decision-making. It coordinates corporate planning and governance cycles, produces organisation-wide performance and project reporting, and leverages systems and data to create a single source of truth for planning and performance information, reducing manual effort and enabling more timely, insightful outputs. Combining strong process discipline with a continuous improvement mindset, the role drives both the delivery and ongoing enhancement of planning and governance practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Coordinate governance and compliance processes, including policy review cycles, risk register updates, internal audit action status updates and governance reporting inputs, ensuring structured and consistent delivery.
- Coordinate corporate planning processes, including annual planning cycles and updates, while contributing to the design and refinement of planning approaches to improve clarity, consistency and value.
- Produce organisation-wide performance and project reporting outputs, with a focus on clarity, insight and usability for stakeholders moving beyond data consolidation to more meaningful and actionable outputs.
- Support stakeholders in navigating planning, reporting and governance processes, providing clear, practical guidance and building capability over time.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to support effective engagement with planning, reporting and governance processes.
We are looking for an experienced governance professional who brings:
- A tertiary qualification in Strategic Management, Business, Governance or a related discipline.
- Experience in corporate planning and strategy, governance, risk management or enterprise performance reporting.
- Experience working with systems and data and coordinating processes across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice, work collaboratively across an organisation and coach other team members.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and an ability to identify and resolve issues in a practical and structured manner.
Experience in a complex organisational or government environment will be highly regarded.
