What you will do. A glimpse in your role:

As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, stability, and smooth operation of our in‑house DBO applications, built on modern .NET, Angular, and MSSQL architectures. You will work close to production systems, supporting distributed, event‑driven platforms and continuously improving operational excellence.

You will collaborate closely with Developers, QA, DevOps, UX, and Product teams to investigate issues, optimize operability, and drive continuous service improvements. This role requires strong analytical thinking, clear communication, operational awareness, and a passion for automation and developer experience.

Every action has an impact. You will make a difference here if you:

  • Provide L2 application support, ensuring high availability, resilience, and operational continuity of production systems.

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues using logs, dashboards, metrics, and traces, applying deep system knowledge to resolve incidents efficiently.

  • Support Kubernetes-based workloads, including pod diagnostics, log analysis, restarts, probes, networking, and scaling behavior.

  • Investigate backend and API issues, event‑driven flows using RabbitMQ, and database‑related problems in MSSQL.

  • Collaborate in incident response, post‑incident reviews, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain and continuously improve runbooks, SOPs, and internal knowledge bases.

  • Participate in release validation and operational readiness reviews to ensure production stability.

  • Create, understand, and maintain basic automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash to reduce manual operations.

  • Contribute to DevOps and Developer Experience (DevEx) improvements, including CI/CD reliability, deployment consistency, and environment stability.

  • Enhance observability and service telemetry through actionable alerts, dashboards, and monitoring improvements.

  • Apply secure‑by‑design principles, following OWASP guidelines, OIDC/OAuth2 standards, and compliance requirements.

  • Leverage AI‑assisted tools for scripting, log analysis, diagnostics, and documentation—while critically validating outputs.

  • Participate in on‑call rotations, out‑of‑hours deployments, and incident support when required.

Key competencies to empower your journey. You'll drive towards success if:

  • You have strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured approach to incident investigation.

  • You are comfortable working in production environments and understand the operational impact of your actions.

  • You communicate clearly and effectively, adapting technical topics for different audiences.

  • You work well independently and thrive as part of a cross‑functional, multicultural team.

  • You are proactive, curious, and motivated by continuous improvement.

  • You enjoy working in regulated and high‑availability environments.

Skills

  • Scripting and automation using PowerShell and Bash.

  • Strong understanding of .NET‑based services, including API behavior, configuration, logging, diagnostics, and C# fundamentals.

  • Hands‑on experience with REST APIs and tools such as Postman.

  • Solid SQL skills (preferably MSSQL): query writing, debugging, and data validation.

  • Experience with RabbitMQ, including message flows, retries, DLQs, and event‑driven troubleshooting.

  • Log analysis and monitoring using Splunk, including writing queries and building dashboards.

  • Kubernetes fundamentals: pods, events, probes, restarts, configs, and scaling.

  • Observability concepts: logs, metrics, traces, and dashboard‑driven analysis.

  • CI/CD fundamentals, including troubleshooting pipelines and quality gates.

  • Experience with deployment tools such as Jenkins.

  • Security awareness, including OWASP basics, OIDC/OAuth2 flows, and secure secret handling.

  • AI‑assisted operational work: log insights, script drafting, and documentation support.

  • Strong administrative experience with ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, Xurrent, or similar.

  • Frontend debugging experience using browser developer tools and a basic understanding of JavaScript.

  • Experience in financial services or PCI‑DSS regulated environments is a strong plus.

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office tools, Active Directory, and Windows Server.

Qualifications and education requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in application support or production operations.

  • Hands‑on experience supporting distributed systems in modern Agile environments.

  • Exposure to ITIL or service management practices (ITIL Foundation preferred).

  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
