3D Design Specialist (Remote) – Roof Modeling, CAD, and Solar Design | Training Provided

We are hiring a remote Design Technician to create 3D roof models, CAD-style house structures, roof measurements, and solar designs using modern digital design tools. This is a fully remote role with training provided, ideal for candidates interested in CAD, drafting, 3D modeling, solar design, roofing design, or construction technology.

Remote work and shift requirements

This position is remote only. Candidates must be available for one of the following shifts (Eastern Time):

• 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM EST

• 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST

A reliable laptop and stable internet connection are required.

Key responsibilities

• Build accurate 3D roof models and exterior house geometry using CAD-style tools

• Produce roof measurement reports (facets, pitches, slopes, ridges, valleys)

• Create solar panel layouts based on design standards and setback requirements

• Interpret aerial imagery and measurement data to ensure accuracy

• Work with engineering, operations, and design QA teams

• Deliver fast, consistent, high-quality design output

Ideal candidate profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new tools quickly

• Comfortable with basic geometry, measurements, and spatial reasoning

• Experience with CAD, drafting, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other 3D modeling tools is a plus but not required

• Reliable, organized, and comfortable working remotely

• Good communication and time-management skills

Training and tools provided

No prior solar or roofing experience is needed.

Helpful but not required

• Experience in solar design, roof measurement, construction, or digital takeoffs
