BCBS of AL is getting ready to hire four new contractors for their BI team. one WebFOCUS architect one WebFOCUS developer with extensive experience handing migrations for large WebFOCUS applications two WebFOCUS developers Location: Birmingham, AL but remote until office re-opens Duration: 12+ months Interview: Phone screen or Phone + Video Rate: C2C- 55/hour for developers and 65/hour for Architects. Dev: We are seeking a self-motivated and self-directed analyst/developer to drive the design and development of data analytics tools and reports. This position requires excellent data analysis skills, tools development, and a big-picture perspective. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must as this position involves collaboration with teams across the organization. • Minimum of 3 years of design and development experience working with WebFOCUS 8.x in the following: AppStudio, ReportCaster, master file/metadata development, Cascading Style Sheets, synonym creation, managed reporting, ad hoc reports, dashboards, and portal development • Prior experience supporting BI tool migration efforts/change management administration • Minimum of 2 years of experience working large data environments with SQL and Relational Databases such as DB2 and SQL Server • Strong SQL programming skills • Applied knowledge of Java Script, jQuery, HTML5 • Experience developing parameter driven compound reports using WebFOCUS (8.0 or higher) and document the various steps taken during all phases of development and implementation • Creates esthetically engaging data visualizations and user interfaces using the power of color theory and user-centered design thinking • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Proven analytical and problem solving skills Architect: We are seeking a self-motivated and self-directed analyst/developer to drive the design and development of data analytics tools and reports. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must as this position involves collaboration with teams across the organization. • Bachelor degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution • 5+ years of WebFOCUS systems experience - developing reports, dashboards, and portals in WebFOCUS • Extensive experience with AppStudio • Experience implementing SSO security using LDAP and AD • Data Visualization expertise; selecting the right visual representation based on the data • In-depth experience building the infrastructure and migration of reports from WebFOCUS 8 and above • In-depth experience using WebFOCUS 8 and above to develop the following: master file/meta data, dashboards, Guided Ad-Hoc Reporting Application, ReportCaster, InfoAssist, report painter, managed reporting, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) • Strong SQL programming skills • Java Script, jQuery, HTML5 experience • Strong SQL programming skills • Ability to optimize WebFOCUS request in order to create efficient SQL queries • Understanding of Netezza/SQL server • In-depth understanding of Business Intelligence solutions for customer • Analytical or development work within a healthcare or insurance sector, is highly advantageous • Analytical work within a large database environment, preferable SQL server and/or DB2 Data Warehouse • Experience working directly with end users to gather requirements and subsequently develop into static reports, guided ad-hoc reports, and custom dashboards • Strong communication skills • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with different technical and business stakeholders • Analytical and problem solving skills • Experience training and mentoring developers towards solution development and implementation • Ability to lead requirement gathering sessions with end users • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines • Ability to work independently and as a team member • Familiarity with project management and systems development life cycle processes, tools, concepts and methodologies is plus
