Position Overview
EnDyna, Inc. is seeking a Risk & Internal Controls Analyst to support an OMB Circular A-123 risk assessment and internal controls program. Working with the project lead and client stakeholders, the Analyst will assess risks, evaluate internal controls, document business processes, analyze qualitative and quantitative risk factors, and develop clear, actionable risk assessment deliverables. The position supports EPA program operations and management assurance; it is not an investigative or enforcement role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and independently perform assigned portions of an OMB Circular A-123 risk assessment.
- Review relevant policies, procedures, prior risk assessments, and internal control guidance.
- Conduct interviews and working sessions with program and financial management staff.
- Document business processes, risks, existing controls, and control gaps; develop and maintain risk and control matrices.
- Apply qualitative and quantitative factors to assess, score, and prioritize risks.
- Analyze information to identify trends, vulnerabilities, and matters requiring management attention.
- Evaluate internal control effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare workpapers, analyses, summaries, presentations, and management briefing materials.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain consistent assessment methodology and documentation.
- Develop recommendations and risk mitigation strategies, and perform quality control reviews of assessment documentation and deliverables.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in risk management, internal controls, auditing, compliance, financial management, or process improvement.
- Experience with OMB Circular A-123 or a comparable risk/internal controls framework preferred; direct A-123 assessment experience is especially desirable.
- Sound understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and management controls, including analysis of qualitative and quantitative risk factors.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, writing, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and engage professionally with clients and senior management.
- Federal government or other regulated-industry experience is a plus.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate can take ownership of an assigned area of a risk assessment—from information gathering and analysis through documented findings and recommendations—while recognizing when to elevate issues to the project lead. Direct A-123 experience is preferred, but strong candidates with substantive audit, internal controls, enterprise risk management, financial management, compliance, or risk assessment experience will also be considered.
Work Arrangement & Compensation
This position is anticipated to be full-time based on client priorities and project needs. EnDyna offers a competitive hourly rate commensurate with qualifications. Candidates must be available to attend meetings at EnDyna offices as needed and may be required to attend meetings at EPA Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Equal Employment Opportunity
EnDyna is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any status protected by applicable law.
