Who We’re Looking For
- A background in livestock agriculture, through a family farm or ranch, 4-H or FFA, an animal science degree or industry work
- An eye for the details producers notice, such as timing that misses the season or imagery that shows the wrong biosecurity practice
- Interest in learning the technical side of agriculture for greater industry knowledge and client resource
- Client Service First: Stay focused on client goals and relationship needs while managing day-to-day account service and partnering with senior team members to keep work on track.
- Manage Projects: Manage marketing and communications projects across branding, creative, research, media, digital, social, PR, planning and events. Own project details, timelines and deliverables to ensure work stays within scope, budget and deadlines.
- Stay Close to Clients: Meet regularly with clients to understand their priorities, industries, project requirements and future needs. Serve as a key liaison between the client and agency, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
- Know Livestock and the Business: Bring and keep building a strong understanding of the livestock industry and your client’s business, including species-specific production practices, animal health and nutrition, audiences, priorities, competitive landscape and industry trends, to help inform the work.
- Support Industry Events: Help plan and coordinate client and agency participation at key livestock events such as World Pork Expo, World Dairy Expo, NCBA and IPPE, owning logistics, materials and deadlines.
- Collaborate & Create: Partner with cross-functional agency teams to implement strategies, ideas and campaign elements that support client objectives.
- Present & Communicate: Participate in client meetings and presentations, and keep clients and internal teams informed on status, decisions and next steps.
- Stay Curious: Stay current on marketing trends and the issues shaping animal agriculture, from disease prevention and animal welfare policy to sustainability and market swings, bringing fresh ideas and relevant opportunities to the team and client.
- Manage Multiple Priorities: Juggle multiple accounts and projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Solve Problems Proactively: Anticipate challenges and help resolve issues as they arise, keeping projects moving and relationships strong.
- Manage Budgets and Timelines: Monitor budgets and project scope and support accurate, timely invoicing in partnership with senior team members and accounting. Maintain timelines, status reports and project documentation so clients and agency teams are clear on deliverables, responsibilities and next steps.
- Own the Agency Process: Follow agency processes and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality execution while helping improve how we work as the agency evolves.
- 3+ years of integrated marketing experience, agency experience preferred
- Livestock industry experience and a demonstrated commitment to animal agriculture, on either the agency or client/corporate side
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to write tactical plans
- Advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Personal background in livestock agriculture, such as growing up on a farm, 4-H or FFA livestock projects, collegiate livestock judging or general career experience in the industry
- Involvement in livestock industry organizations or associations
- Working knowledge of the animal health, nutrition, genetics and equipment companies that serve producers
- Highly organized with good project and budget management skills
- Professional manner and ability to gain trust and respect of clients and co-workers
- Strong business sense and the ability to make decisions for the benefit of the client and agency
- Works well in a team environment
- Our culture of positive core values—Empowering, Purpose-driven, Forward-thinking and Inclusive—guides our interactions with clients and each other
- We’re 100% employee-owned and dog-friendly
- We provide a continuous learning environment valuing ideas, solutions, collaboration and results
- Find your balance in a casual, friendly, hybrid work environment with flexible work hours
