Overview:

Intrax is a global organization dedicated to building a more inclusive and connected world through meaningful cultural exchange. With programs in more than 100 countries, we connect people and cultures through educational, work, travel, and volunteer experiences that inspire personal growth and prepare individuals to thrive as global citizens.

Intrax Global Internships (IGI) is looking for an experienced, consultative Account Executive to drive the growth of our J-1 Intern and Trainee programs across the United States.

We are seeking a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys opening new markets, building relationships with decision-makers, developing a strong pipeline, and closing new business. You will have the opportunity to identify and cultivate employer partnerships while helping U.S. organizations access talented international interns and trainees.

Reporting to Vice President, Internships, you’ll own the sales process from prospecting and discovery through negotiation, closing, and onboarding, working closely with our Account Management, Operations, Compliance, and Marketing teams to turn new partnerships into successful long-term relationships.

This position is located in San Francisco, CA with a 3-day in office hybrid work arrangement.

What You’ll Do

Build and grow the business

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand Intrax’s network of U.S. host organizations and achieve annual growth targets.
  • Identify new markets, industries, and organizations with workforce needs that align with our J-1 Intern and Trainee programs.
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, LinkedIn, industry associations, conferences, market research, and other business development channels.
  • Develop relationships with employers and senior decision-makers across industries including STEM, technology, engineering, business, marketing, hospitality, tourism, and related fields.

Own the sales cycle

  • Generate, qualify, and convert new business opportunities through phone, email, video meetings, LinkedIn, and in-person networking.
  • Conduct discovery meetings and consultative sales presentations that identify employer needs and position Intrax solutions accordingly.
  • Develop customized workforce solutions using the Intrax Global Internships program.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, partnership agreements, and RFP responses as appropriate.
  • Negotiate partnership terms and close new host organization agreements.
  • Manage prospects from initial contact through signed agreement and successful onboarding.

Become a trusted partner

  • Educate employers on the value, structure, and regulatory requirements of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.
  • Build credibility with prospective partners by understanding their business, talent needs, and workforce challenges.
  • Leverage Intrax success stories, industry expertise, and case studies to demonstrate the value of international internship and trainee programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships throughout the sales process and partner with internal teams to support successful onboarding, retention, and future growth.

Manage your business

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and activity tracking.
  • Consistently maintain the level of prospecting and sales activity necessary to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.
  • Monitor industry, workforce development, talent mobility, internship, and international education trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Represent IGI/Intrax at conferences, trade associations, chambers of commerce, workforce development events, and other networking opportunities.
  • Contribute to employer-focused marketing materials, presentations, success stories, and strategic growth initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a proven B2B sales professional, not someone who simply manages an existing book of business.

You bring:

  • 3–5+ years of successful B2B sales, business development, employer relations, staffing, recruiting, workforce development, account management, or consultative sales experience.
  • A demonstrated track record of prospecting, developing pipelines, acquiring new accounts, and closing business.
  • Experience selling services, staffing, recruitment, workforce solutions, or other consultative business solutions.
  • Experience owning a sales pipeline and consistently working toward measurable revenue or business development goals.
  • Strong discovery, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Confidence communicating with managers, executives, HR leaders, talent acquisition professionals, and other business decision-makers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems, LinkedIn, Microsoft Office, and other business development tools.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of results.

A four-year degree or equivalent professional experience is required.

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • An established professional network in STEM, technology, engineering, business, marketing, hospitality, tourism, or related industries.
  • Experience developing employer partnerships or strategic business relationships.
  • A background in staffing, recruiting, talent acquisition, workforce development, or related services.
  • Familiarity with the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program or international talent programs.
  • Experience succeeding in a performance-driven, growth-oriented sales environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to open doors and build relationships in markets where you may not already have an established client base.

The Person Who Will Thrive in This Role

You are naturally curious about businesses and people. You know how to ask good questions, uncover a client's needs, and connect those needs to a solution.

You're comfortable picking up the phone, sending the follow-up email, making the introduction, asking for the meeting, and ultimately asking for the business. You enjoy the process of turning a prospect into a partner.

You are entrepreneurial, proactive, persistent, and relationship-oriented, with the judgment to balance sales objectives with long-term partnership quality and program compliance.

You don't need to be an expert in the J-1 program on day one. You do need to be a strong salesperson who can learn a complex program, communicate its value clearly, and build confidence with employers.

How Success Will Be Measured

Success in this role will include:

  • Achieving or exceeding host organization acquisition and business development targets.
  • Generating new revenue and expanding Intrax's employer network.
  • Maintaining a healthy, active, and accurately forecasted sales pipeline.
  • Converting qualified prospects into long-term host organization partnerships.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely CRM activity and forecasting.
  • Building strong relationships and delivering an excellent partner experience.
  • Collaborating effectively with Account Management, Operations, Compliance, and Marketing.
  • Contributing to the long-term growth of Intrax Global Internships.

Travel

This position includes domestic travel for business development meetings, conferences, networking events, and industry activities. Occasional international travel may also be required.

Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to build something—not simply manage something that already exists.

You’ll have the autonomy to develop your territory, create new relationships, open new markets, and directly contribute to the growth of an established international education and workforce solutions business.

If you’re an experienced B2B sales professional who enjoys winning new business, building meaningful partnerships, and creating opportunities that connect international talent with U.S. employers, we’d like to hear from you.

Pay Range:
