Money stress is the biggest productivity killer in the workplace - My Money Matters exists to change that. We're building an app that improves employees' finances automatically every pay day - giving them financial tools that directly improve their financial health with less effort.

Every pay day is an opportunity to build better money habits. We make it easy. Employees can accelerate retirement savings with tax-efficient pension top-ups, build a safety net effortlessly with auto savings, or access their already-earned salary ahead of pay day for emergencies.

For employers, fewer employees with money worries means more focus on work. We're trusted by major organisations including the NHS, and we're growing fast.

As an Account Manager, you own the growth of a portfolio of Tier 1 and Tier 2 public sector employers. Your priority is expanding what each customer takes from My Money Matters, and converting single-product renewals into platform renewals.

Many of our customers start with one product, most often shared-cost AVCs (SCAVCs). Your job is to bring them onto the full platform, including on-demand pay and Auto Savings, and to grow the number of employees using it. Because we earn when employees use the service, adoption is growth.

Retention is the foundation, but success is measured by growth: more products per employer, more employees engaged, and renewals that land on broader platform agreements. This is a commercially-led, target-carrying role.

The role is hybrid (1-2 days per week in our London office), with occasional travel for customer meetings, engagement events and strategic sessions.

Key Responsibilities

Growth & Expansion

  • Own and deliver an expansion target across your portfolio

  • Build an account plan for each customer, mapping current products, whitespace and the route to the full platform

  • Take expansion from discovery through business case, proposal and close, positioning on-demand pay, Auto Savings and new products

  • Drive employee take-up with each employer, since usage is what turns contracts into revenue

  • Keep CRM, pipeline and forecasts accurate

Platform Renewal Conversion

  • Own renewal outcomes for your portfolio, with the aim of converting single-product renewals into platform renewals

  • Start renewal planning 9–12 months ahead of contract end, so value delivered and the platform case are evidenced well before any formal window

  • Negotiate scope, pricing and contract length, and close

  • Read public sector procurement and contractual constraints (framework terms, call-off and extension options, modification thresholds) and use them to shape the timing and route of each conversion

Retention & Account Health

  • Protect existing revenue with an evidence-based view of account health, spotting risk early

  • Handle commercial risk with confidence, including insourcing, budget scrutiny and competitor comparison

  • Act as the escalation point for complex account issues

Senior Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build direct relationships with budget holders across HR, Payroll, Pensions, Finance and the executive team, never relying on a single contact

  • Turn platform data (take-up, employee outcomes, cost savings) into a commercial story that lands at C-level

  • Represent MMM credibly as the primary commercial contact in high-stakes conversations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Sales and Launch: take a smooth handover from Sales and the Launch team, who bridge the gap from contract to go-live, so you pick up a live, well-understood account ready to grow

  • Marketing: employee engagement campaigns and customer case studies

  • Product: feedback customer insight and pilot new products with your accounts

  • Be the voice of the customer internally and share best practice with the wider team

How Success Is Measured

Growth measures come first; retention is the baseline you protect.

Measure

What it shows

Net revenue retention

Portfolio revenue growth after churn and contraction

Expansion revenue vs target

New revenue closed from existing accounts

Platform conversion rate

Share of renewals converted to platform agreements

Employee take-up

Share of eligible employees using each product

Gross revenue retention

Revenue kept, before expansion

Skills & Competencies

Core Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen: spots opportunity, builds the business case, negotiates and closes

  • Consultative and growth-minded, positioning a multi-product solution against customer needs

  • Influences and holds relationships at C-level and senior budget-holder level

  • Translates product capability into commercial language for a senior, non-technical audience

  • Organised, self-directed and data-literate, running a portfolio pipeline without close supervision

Experience & Background

  • Proven track record of hitting expansion, upsell or cross-sell targets in an account management or similar commercial role

  • Experience owning renewals, ideally moving customers onto broader or multi-product agreements

  • Experience managing relationships with C-level or senior budget-holder stakeholders

  • Experience working with a high degree of autonomy against commercial targets

  • Experience with complex, regulated or public sector organisations is advantageous but not essential

  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS business, ideally in an adjacent sector (HR, benefits, payroll, financial wellbeing, finance)

What the Role Is Not

  • A reactive support role

  • An onboarding or implementation position

  • A renewals admin role: the job is to grow contracts, not roll them over

  • A new business role: your growth comes from your existing portfolio

This role suits someone who wants direct commercial ownership of a portfolio and is motivated by growing it, as comfortable negotiating a platform renewal in the boardroom as they are building the account plan that gets it there.
